“Sometimes the more interesting things now are done by amateurs, and by people who maybe don’t do it for the same—with the same intention that I would do it, or an artist would do it? Or, I don’t know if that’s even arrogant to assume that, but I think some of the people who have done work, and posted it on Youtube, and didn’t have this intention of making something which could be declared as Art, have done really great work.” —Oliver Laric Interview

Singleshot → singleshot.fvu.co.uk

Launched in 2006, Single Shot invited a mixture of well known artists and younger talent to create a new moving image work which adopted the most basic of cinematic elements - the single unedited shot. Featuring new commissions by George Barber, Sean Dower and Paul Rooney, Single Shot toured extensively to venues across the UK throughout 2006/7. All works are featured  on an archived version of the project website now online.

A new semester, a new theme

It’s the new season - autumn - and as such the Tumblr blog has had a mild makeover. I’ll be using it again with this year’s MIS students, but those still following are still welcome to continue following and participating.

Jolly good!
